The following tour is designed to be a perfect for the people with mobility problems. All tour destinations and facilities are inspected and confirmed as handicapped people accessibility and safe. Now, not only able people but also handicapped people can visit and enjoy exotic cultural and natural landscapes in Thailand with Discover Asia Travel Co., Ltd. in Bangkok. One may not be able to do some adventure trips in the wilderness areas, but most established destination sightseeing tours can be done and enjoyed by the people with mobility problem. The main destinations we currently organize and operate tours for the handicapped people are Bangkok, Ayuthaya (Ancient Capital City), Pattaya Beach, Hua Hin-Cha Am Beach, Chiang Mai, and Phuket. These well-established popular destinations have hotel accommodations that are made accessible for the people on the wheelchair. However, each hotel has limited number of rooms with such facilities. We have initiated the need to develop tours for the people with mobility problems and are ready with selected tour programs to lead the way. Please ask us for information or help.

Eight seat air-conditioned van for 1-6 people tour.
Van is equipped with wheelchair ramp (manual).
Two wheelchairs in the van if guests cannot move out of the wheelchairs.
Two wheelchair space plus four seats for the guests who can seat outside
the wheelchair. A total of four to six guests can be seated at a time
in the van.
Public Transportation For Handicapped People in Thailand:
In Thailand, public transportation vehicles with hydraulic-lifts are not
available. Even hospitals do not have them. The modern Bangkok Sky Train
has lifts for access on the train and exit. Most of Thailand streets are
not accessible by wheelchair except in limited locations, such as Khaosan
Road, and Grand Palace area. Thus, we manually assist our guests in most
of the locations we visit.
The good news for people with mobility problems visiting Thailand is that the Government of Thailand is progressively installing facilities accommodating the handicapped people. This means that in the near future, Thailand will have public transportation, public facilities and major tour destinations with wheelchair access. Many hotels already have rooms with handicapped people friendly facilities.
On the tour, we drive to each point of interest and an extra helper (manpower) will be provided where necessary. The need for an extra helper will be as per the requests made by the guests or by the booking agent. Details of the guest and particulars of the help needed should be informed to us in advance in order to arrange the necessary facilities and services.
Wheelchairs:
Wheelchairs have to be brought by the guests or inform us in advance so
that we can rent one from the hospital. The wheelchairs we can rent and
provide are manual, but not mechanical. An in house manual wheelchair
is readily available for temporary use between the ports of arrival/departure
and van or coach for guests who can sit on the van or coach seat.
