Destinations: Vientiane-Luangprabang-Pakbeng-Hauixai-Chiang Khong.
Activities: Visit ancient palaces and temples of Laos in Vientiane, Luangprabang (Cultural World Heritage site), Kuangsi waterfall and Pakou cave, the home of 1,000s of Buddha images, where king of Luangprabang often meditated, visit hill tribe villages, local weaving places, and cruise upstream in the majestic Mekong River.

Program DL2:

Day 1 Vientiane Arrival and Tour
Meet at the airport and transfer to hotel for check in. Afternoon-visit the historic temples; Wat Prakeo, Wat Sisaket, Thatluang and Patuxai (Victory gate).
Overnight at Hotel Lao or similar.

Day 2 Vientiane-Luangprabang
Breakfast and transfer to airport for a flight to Luangprabang (by QV 101 10:20-11:00). Upon arrival, transfer to hotel, refresh and visit the royal temples such as Wat Visun, Wat Saen, wat Xiengthong and Phousi Mount and watch sunset over the mighty Mekong River. Overnight at Rama Hotel or Ban Lao Hotel.

Day 3 Luangprabang
Breakfast at hotel and visit the former king's palace, local markets, hand weaving & dyeing villages.
Overnight at Rama Hotel or Ban Lao Hotel.

Day 4 Luangprabang-Kuangsi Waterfalls
After breakfast, drive to Kuangsi waterfalls and visit the hill tribe village Ban Tha Paen. Afternoon-drive back to Luangprabang and remaining time at leisure.
Overnight at Rama hotel or Ban Lao hotel.

Day 5 Luangprabang-Pakbeng
Breakfast and transfer to boat pier and take a slow boat up river to Pakbeng, via Pakou cave. Overnight at Villa Salika Hotel.

Day 6 Pakbeng-Hoeisai-Chiang Khong
After breakfast, board the slow boat to Hauaisai.
Upon arrival, transfer to pier and cross Mekong River to Chiang Khong, Thailand. End of Lao side of the tour service.

Remark: If Thailand side of the tour is arranged, then your Thai tour guide will meet you as you arrive on the Thai side of the border and transfer to your hotel in the Golden Triangle area. If you do not have a tour or transfer arrangement on Thai side, the only option available is the local bus to Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai and Bangkok. We strongly recommend guests going on this tour to book the northern Thailand tour with us for travel at ease.
