Destinations: Vientiane- Xiengkhuang-Xam Neua (Houa Phanh province).

Laos Adventure 1.

Day 1 Arrive Vientiane
Welcome at the airport or Friendship Friends and transfer to hotel. Afternoon-visit the historic temples such as Wat Prakeo, Wat Sisaket, Thatluang, Patuxai (Victory gate) and a hand weaving and dyeing village. Remaining time at leisure. Overnight at Hotel Lao (std hotel).

Day 2 Vientiane-Xiengkhuang Flight (B)
After breakfast, transfer to airport for a flight to Xiengkhuang. On arrival, transfer to hotel. Visit the Plain of Jars and Muongkhoune, the former capital of Xiengkhuang. Overnight at Phouchan or Phouxang Hotel (std hotel).

Day 3 Xiengkhuang-muongkhame-Xam Neua
(Houaphanh province, 240kms overland and about 7-8hrs drive).
It is the former stronghold base of "Pa Thet Lao Force" during Indochina war (Now, the Lao People Revolutionary Party); It's a famous limestone mountains and hundred caves are located in the areas, eg. The Leaders' caves (B).

After breakfast, drive up to Xam Neua on the mountainous road. En route, some stop are made to visit the minority villages eg. H'mong, Khmu, Thai Dam, Lao Meui etc. PM, arrive Xam Neua and at leisure. Overnight at local guesthouse in Xam Neua.

Day 4 Xam Neua- Muong Vieng Xai (40kms) (B)
(Full-day sightseeing tour Xam Neua & its neighboring districts)
After breakfast, the old temples; Wat On Tu, Wat Tham. Drive to Muong Vieng Xai, visit the historic caves (called leaders' caves) and hand weaving & dyeing villages along the road eg, Ban Kang Mong. PM- return to Xam Neua and at leisure. Overnight at local guesthouse in Xam Neua.

Day 5 Xamneua-Muong Viengthong (Muong Hiem 200kms) (B)
After breakfast, drive down to Muong Viengthong (Muong Hiem) on the rough road. Overnight at a simple local guesthouse.

Day 6 Muong Viengthong-Muong Ngoi-Luangprabang (B)
(315kms distance and about 8hrs drive)
After breakfast, continue driving to Muong Ngoi and Luangprabang. En route, some stops are made to visit the minority villages eg. H'mong, Akha, Lao Loum etc. Late afternoon, arrive Luangprabang and at leisure. Overnight at Ban Lao or Rama Hotel (std. hotel).

Day 7 Luangprabang (B)
After breakfast, visit the royal temples; Wat Visun, Wat Saen, Wat Mai, Wat Xiengthong and Phousi Mountain. PM. Visit the former king's Palace, famous hand weaving & dyeing villages of Thai Lu Ban Phanom & Ban Sang Khong. Overnight at Ban Lao or Rama Hotel (Std hotel).

Day 8 Luangprabang-Pakou Cave (B)
After breakfast, visit the former king's palace. Then, take a boat to Pakou cave to visit the cave and local rice wine production village of Ban Sanghai.
Afternoon, return to Luangprabang and visit the famous hand weaving village Ban Phanom and transfer to hotel and at leisure.
Overnight at Rama hotel or Ban Lao hotel.

Day 9 Luangprabang-Kuangsi Waterfalls (B)
Breakfast, and drive to Kuangsi waterfalls some 30kms. Visit the hill tribe village of Ban Thapaen and do a short walking along the path of the falls. Afternoon- return to Luangprabang and visit the local market and silversmith shops.
Overnight at Rama Hotel or Ban Lao Hotel (Std hotel).

Day 10 Departure from Luangprabang (B)
After breakfast and at leisure until transfer to airport for your next destination.

Guests can connect flights to Bangkok, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Siem Reap, Phnom Penh, and Chiang Mai (few flights a week) with advance arrangement.
