Destinations: Vientiane-Luangprabang-Pakse-Khong Island.
Activities: Explore Laos North to South to visit ancient palaces and temples in Vientiane, Luangprabang (Cultural World Heritage site), Kuangsi waterfall and Pakou cave, the home of 1,000s of Buddha images, where king of Luangprabang often meditated, visit hill tribe villages, local weaving places, cruise downstream Mekong River to Khong Islands, visit pre Angkorian ruins of Watphou (The world heritage site in Pakse southern Laos), see the great waterfalls, fresh water Dolphins, and elephant trekking.

Program DL4:

Day 1 Arrive Vientiane
Welcome at Vientiane Airport and transfer to hotel. Afternoon, visit the historic temples such as Wat Prakeo, Wat Sisaket, Thatluang and Patuxai (Victory gate), remaining time at leisure. Overnight at Hotel Lao or similar.

Day 2 Vientiane-Luangprabang
Breakfast, then transfer to airport for a flight to Luangprabang.
Upon arrival, transfer to hotel, refresh and visit the royal temples such as Wat Visun, Wat Sean, and Wat Xiengthong. Next, we will visit Phousi Mountain to watch sunset over the mighty Mekong River.
Overnight at Rama Hotel or Banlao Hotel.

Day 3 Luangprabrang-Pakou Cave
Breakfast and visit the former king's Palace (now a Museum). Boat trip on Mekong River to visit Pakou cave, the home of 1,000 of Buddha images. Next, we'll visit Ban Sanghai to observe the traditional way of producing rice wine at a local distillery. Afternoon-return to Luangprabang and visit the famous hand weaving village of Thai Lu Ban Phanom.
Overnight at Rama Hotel or Ban Lao Hotel.

Day 4 Luangprabang-Kuangsi Waterfalls
Breakfast, and drive to Kuangsi waterfalls some 30kms. Visit the hill tribe village of Ban Thapaen and do a short walking along the path of the falls. Afternoon- return to Luangprabang and visit the local market and silversmith shops.
Overnight at Rama Hotel or Ban Lao Hotel.

Day 5 Luangprabang-Vientiane
Breakfast and at leisure until transfer to airport a flight to Vientiane.
Upon arrival transfer to hotel and remaining time at leisure.
Overnight at Hotel Lao or similar.

Day 6 Vientiane-Pakse-Khong
Breakfast and transfer to airport a flight to Pakse. Upon arrival, transfer to pier and boat trip on Mekong River to Champasack district about 90minutes journey. Visit the pre Angkorian ruins of Watphou (The world heritage site, then, drive to Khong Islands about 130kms.
Overnight at Villa Muongkhong Hotel or similar.

Day 7 Explore Khong
Breakfast and boat to Bankhone to see the colonial bridge and locomotive. We will take a walk or drive by farmer truck to see the great waterfalls "Liphi" and to see the fresh water Dolphins. Then, drive back to Ban Nakasang, and continue drive to visit the second site of waterfalls Khonephapheng and drive to hotel.
Overnight at Villa Muongkhong Hotel or similar.

Day 8 Khong-Pakse-Tatlo
Breakfast and drive back to Pakse. Stop and elephant trek at Ban Kiat Ngong to Phou Asa about 2 hours. Then, drive back to Pakse and to Tatlo.
En-route visit a coffee plantation of Bolevevn Plateau.
Overnight at Say Xe Guesthouse at Tatlo.

Day 9 Tatlo-Pakse-Chongmeck (Lao-Thai border (100kms).
Breakfast and drive back to Pakse and overnight at Pakse Hotel or similar.

Extension to Thailand or Cambodia:
Guests have choice of taking flight back to Vientiane to connect another destination or cross into Thailand at Chongmek, then travel overland to Ubon Ratchathani for a flight to Bangkok. Another option is to explore Ubon Ratchathani, Kamphaeng Noi Ruins in Si Sa Ket and visit one of the most visited Khmer temple ruins of Prasat Phra Viharn or better know as Preah Vihear at Thailand-Cambodia border. Then continue your journey to visit Surin and Khorat to visit some of the most attractive ruins of ancient Khmer civilization such as Phimai Temple complex and archeological site before driving to Bangkok or to Thailand-Cambodia border at Poipet to visit Angkor Wat or Phnom Penh.
