Central Thailand is the gateway and major fanfare area of the country, which includes
Bangkok, Ayuthaya, Kanchanaburi, Hua Hin, Cha Am, and Pattaya all of which have
beautiful natural and cultural landscapes to see. The following summary is an example
to orient you about each destination in brief. Please read the tour programs for details.
Bangkok, the capital and the major metropolitan city of Thailand! The Grand Palace,
ancient temples, riverboat cruise, floating market, classical Thai dance, and elephant
show are some of the highlights of the tour here. The bustling capital offers sightseers a
full range of historic monuments and avant-garde modern architecture. Temples,
monasteries, museums, libraries, cultural centers, safari parks, huge shopping complexes
and first class hotels make Bangkok one of the greatest cities in the Far East.
Ayuthaya, the historic ruins of the second capital of Thailand, from 1350-1767, which
used to be the residence of 33 kings, situated in the middle of the Pasak River, boasts
uncountable ancient temples, monuments, ruins and stupas. During the reign of
Ayuthaya kings, Thai culture flourished and so did international relations with the Dutch,
French, Portuguese, Japanese and Chinese. Ayuthaya Historical Park, a UNESCO
declared World Heritage site is worth a visit. Moreover, the Bang Pa In-Summer Palace
and the Bang Sai Art Village under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Queen Sirikit are
some of the attractions in central Thailand.
