Day 1: Hanoi Arrival (D)
On arrival at Noi Bai Airport in Ha Noi, meet and transfer to hotel for check in. The rest of the day, free at leisure.
Day 2: Hanoi - Hoa Binh - Mai Chau (B/L/D)
Breakfast at hotel. Drive to Mai Chau via Hoa Binh town, picturesque scenery with stunning views of the mountains on the way. Lunch in a hill tribe village. Visit Mai Chau located in a pretty valley with a patchwork of rice paddies, farms and still houses. The area is the home of many ethnic minorities, including the Muong and the Thai. Leisure stroll through the village to experience the friendliness of the local people as well as to get an insight in their simple life. Dinner and accommodation at a traditional village house (sleeping on a mat in a common room; own sleeping bag is recommended).
Day 3: Mai Chau - Hoa Binh - Hanoi (B/L/D)
After breakfast, drive to Hoa Binh, take a 2 hours boat trip on the Da River Lake with stopovers to visit Dzao and Muong minority villages. Lunch at Hoa Binh hotel. Drive back to Ha Noi. Dinner at restaurant.
Day 4: Full day city tour Ha Noi (B/L/D)
Breakfast at hotel. Full day city tour: Ho Chi Minh's Maosoleum (closed on Monday, Friday and the entire months of October & November), Still House, One Pillar Pagoda, Temple of Literature, built in the 11th century as Vietnam's first university. Lunch at local restaurant. In the afternoon, visit Museum of Ethnology. Take 1 hour cyclo to visit Old Quarter, Hoan Kiem Lake & Ngoc Son Temple. Attend the famous performance of a water puppet show, the unique Vietnamese traditional art. Accommodation in Hanoi.
Day 5: Departure from Hanoi (B)
Breakfast at hotel and at leisure until transfer to Noi Bai International Airport for departure.
